The RS2080 SATA RAID is an award winning SATA RAID storage system designed to deliver unsurpassed performance and offer Enterprise class features affordably. The RS2080 is a part of the next generation in direct attached and shared storage solutions available in Fibre Channel to ATA and SCSI to ATA configurations. Every RS2080 features a custom ASIC optimized to ensure performance and maximize data throughput. Active components are hot swappable for easy maintenance and field replacement. The RS2080 is capable of supporting data intensive applications such as non-linear editing, multi-tack audio, video streaming, and surveillance DVR.

The RS2080 series features a 64-bit PowerPC microprocessor with embedded 32KB/32KB I/D cache and 256KB L2 cache. The RS2080 offers multiple RAID level settings including levels 0, 1 (0+1), 3, and 5. Automatic drive failure detection, automatic drive rebuild, hot spare, and background rebuild make it possible for users to retrieve and write data at all times. The RS2080 also gives users the piece of mind that they will never lose data due to bad blocks. If bad blocks are encountered during the data rebuild process LBA (Logical Block Addressing) will be initiated and the rebuild process will continue with unaffected sectors. The RS2080 also features Dynamic On-Line RAID Expansion where additional capacity can easily be added without system downtime.
